Welcome to the Tölzer Hütte!

The Tölzer Hütte is an Alpine Hut in the Karwendel range (part of the Alps, shared between Austria and Germany). The hut is owned by the Section Tölz of the German Alpine Club (DAV). The facilities include a restaurant, offering some tyrolean specialities, and accomodation for up to 73 guests (18 in bedrooms, 55 in dormitories).
In 2011, the start of the season is on May 14. Outside of the season, an unserviced shelter with 4 berths is available.

How to get there
The hut can only be reached on foot, since there is no road connection. The starting point for the nearest ascent is at the bus stop "Tölzer Hütte", which is along the road between Vorderriß and Hinterriß. The ascent takes approx. 2.5 hours, and can be quite strenuous. The starting point can be reached by car and public transport. From Munich, take the A95 (direction Garmisch-P.), leave A95 at exit "Wolfratshausen" and follow the directions to Bad Tölz. In Bad Tölz, take the road to Lenggries/Sylvensteinsee. At Sylvensteinsee, follow the road to Vorderriß. By public transport, take a train to Lenggries, where you look for the bus to "Eng" (operates twice a day in summer).
